England vs Switzerland 1996
The first match of Euro 1996 saw hosts England play out a 1-1 draw with Switzerland.
Under production at the printing presses ensured that this programme is now one of the rarest modern era international programmes around. You can pick one up for around £25 - a potentially savvy investment.
The printers rectified the situation for subsequent matches in the tournament, during which football attempted, but ultimately failed to come home - as Germany beat the Czech Republic in the final.
1931 joint Liverpool and Everton programme
It's known as a friendly rivalry in Liverpool, but even so, this may have been taking things too far.
A joint programme issued by Liverpool and Everton on April 25, 1931 was an experiment that was not repeated.
1958 Manchester United vs Sheffield Wednesday
11 Manchester United players and staff were among the 23 people who died in the Munich air disaster on February 6, 1958.
The next United match following the tragic event, against Sheffield Wednesday on February 19, featured a programme with a black space where each player's name should have been - arguably the most poignant matchday programme ever produced.
The team was made up of reserve and youth team players.
1889 Wolves vs Preston FA Cup Final
A single sheet programme produced for the 1889 FA Cup Final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End sold for £21,850 in May 2006.
Played at London's Oval, better known as a cricket ground, "The Invincibles" of North End won 3-0 to complete a league and cup double, having won the inaugural league championship earlier in the season.
1909 Bristol City vs Manchester United FA Cup Final
The single sheet programme for the 1909 FA Cup Final between Bristol City and Manchester United sold for £23,500 on May 15 2012, becoming the most expensive programme ever auctioned in the process.
Played at London's Crystal Palace, United won 1-0 in what is to date City's only final appearance, and United's first of 11 victories.
"It is extremely scarce and the first time that one has ever been offered at auction," said the auctioneer.
