The influential Blues musician Roy Buchanan's Fender guitar is to appear at auction on April 29, 2012.
The signed Telecaster is expected to bring $75,000-$100,000 in a sale of fine musical instruments. The 1952 model is an early example of the most famous and widely-used guitar ever produced.

Roy Buchanan's 1952 Fender Telecaster
The Fender Telecaster was developed between 1932 and 1949 by Leo Fender. Originally called the Broadcaster, it was the first solid body electric guitar to be mass produced. It was an instant hit and has become a favourite of musicians worldwide.
Roy Buchanan never achieved stardom in his career, but managed to cement his reputation as one of the most influential guitarists with Rolling Stone magazine listing him in their "100 Greatest Guitarists of all time". He played an instrumental role in the development of the "Telecaster sound" and is known for his tonal ability.
This excellent example has been modified by Buchanan and was signed following a gig in 1982, suggesting it was used throughout his career. He died in 1988.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has this Rolling Stones autographed electric "Reversokaster" guitar for sale. The PFC40 autograph index shows that Rolling Stones memorabilia has increased by 498% since 2000.
One of the most exciting lots to follow the Telecaster will be a Gagliano Family Neopolitan Violin. The instrument comes from a renowned family of luthiers and is attributed to Ferdinando Luthier circa 1756.
Ferdinando was noted among the Gagliano luthiers for his choice of materials and workmanship. An estimate of $90,000-$120,000 has been set.
A very early C. F Martin & Company acoustic guitar will also feature in the sale. Dated 1936, C.F Martin & Company continues to make some of the finest steel-stringed acoustic guitars today. The estimate for this rare instrument is $22,000-$28,000.
