Here's a reminder about Heritage Auctions' upcoming sale of The Personal Property of John Wayne, being offered on October 6-7 after it has toured across the United States.
If you're an interested bidder, you have roughly one week to carefully consider your bids on the 745 lots in the auction. Online bidding is available.
Highlights include an iconic eye patch Wayne wore as Rooster Cogburn in True Grit, a Western saddle and stand that belonged to Wayne, his last California Driver's license, and Wayne's 1969 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for True Grit.
These pieces will sell along with a stunning variety of screen worn costumes, cowboy hats, annotated scripts and personal effects from his 170-film career.
Wayne's classics included Sands of Iwo Jima and The Green Berets, represented by over 50 movie scripts in the auction, many containing Wayne's handwritten notes.
"The family of the legendary actor is offering this expansive collection of never-before-released personal and professional memorabilia from Wayne's personal archives for public auction exclusively through Heritage Auctions," said Greg Rohan.
"Through this amazing collection, collectors can acquire pieces of Wayne's life, both great and small, and gain a real sense of who this iconic man was as a father, husband and private citizen.
"Lots are estimated accordingly, affording collectors across the spectrum a shot at a piece of this legendary memorabilia."
