An auction dedicated to Evander Holyfield's personal memorabilia is set to feature his sole Olympic medal alongside important items from his monumental career on November 30.

The main draw of the auction will be provided by the gloves Holyfield wore during his epic 1996 bout with Mike Tyson, now known as the "bite fight". They will feature alongside a further 20 pairs of Holyfield fight-worn gloves as well as an amazing array of his WBC, WBA and IBF Championship belts.
One of the items expecting particularly strong results is the 1984 Olympic bronze medal that Holyfield won after being robbed of gold in the semi-final against New Zealand's Kevin Barry. It was this controversial competition that saw him debut as a professional aged just 21, before going on to win five heavyweight world titles - more than any other boxer in history.
Olympic medals are currently selling with impressive results at auction, boosted by the popularity of the London 2012 Games. Whether this trend will continue until November remains to be seen, though Holyfield's medal remains an important item of memorabilia regardless.
The auction will also feature items from Holyfield's life outside the ring, including fine women's and men's jewellery, and watches from Rolex, Cartier and Patek Philippe. Among the cars offered is a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette, manufactured in the same year that Holyfield was born and one of the first significant purchases of his professional career.
High-end collectors will have the chance to bid on Muhammad Ali's Thrilla in Manila signed trunks later today (August 2), in Heritage Auctions' Vintage Sports Collectibles Platinum Night, held at the National Sports Collectors Convention.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a brilliant piece of vintage boxing memorabilia currently on offer. This autographed vintage magazine photo comes from James J Jeffries, also known as "The Boilermaker".
