A stunning print with unrivalled provenance

The 2008 print, which was taken by the renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, saw a dramatic increase of 344.1% on estimate and starred as top lot of the auction. The magnificent shot sold for £133,250 ($208,000), against a pre-sale valuation of just £20,000-30,000.

Guinness bought the print direct from Testino following the shoot because she was so impressed with the results. It was originally intended as a gift for her children and hung in her New York apartment for years before appearing at the auction.

The 44 year old icon, heir to the Guinness brewing fortune, is renowned for her love of fashion. The decision to sell her impressive collection was made in order to raise money for the Isabella Blow Foundation, which Guinness established in memory of her friend who committed suicide in 2007.

Another superb increase was seen by an ivory silk gown from Alexander McQueen, which was accompanied by a photograph of Guinness wearing it, taken by Matt Collishaw. The combined lot sold 326.2% above its £20,000 high estimate to bring £85,250 ($133,075).

In a sale dominated by McQueen's popular designs, a lace dress and black matador jacket from French designer, Christian Lacroix, managed to join the leading lots at £16,250 ($25,366).  The fabulous item soared past its modest £1,000-2,000 estimate, achieving an impressive 712.5%.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has a stunning pair of trousers worn by royal fashion icon, Princess Diana, currently on offer, which were designed for her by Andre Van Pier.

We also have a classic Karen Okada black cocktail dress owned by Canadian model and Playmate, Dorothy Stratten, at a great price.
