960 Reis 1822 Brazilian rare coin

1822 Brazilian 960 Reis

'Most important collection of Brazilian coins' to sell

The famous Paulistana collection comes to Heritage Auction Galleries

One of the greatest collections of the rare coins of Brazil is coming to auction. The sale will not take place until April, but here's a quick look ahead for the pieces to watch:

There is a complete set of 960 Reis coins. The rarity of these vary, but some kinds are unlikely to be seen at auction again any time soon.

There are also three patacoes of the second empire (1832, 1833, and 1834), and over thirty counterstruck coins amongst a number of other highlights. A number of these are very valuable, and worthy of counting as investment pieces.

The collection is very thorough, and where there are gaps in groupings it is usually because there are no examples left in private hands.

We will bring you more details of these and other highlights closer to the live auction date.
