Barrett-Jackson Auction Company has announced that 27 vehicles from the Jimmy Richardson Collection will cross the auction block at No Reserve during the 41st Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, January 16-22, 2012.
The Jimmy Richardson Collection contains an eclectic mix of vehicles from the past nine decades. It represents a variety of categories of vehicles with one commonality: speed.
Richardson has accumulated these vehicles from several Barrett-Jackson auctions throughout the last decade, with an eye for exotic cars with powerful engines.
"Jimmy Richardson, one of the leading classic automotive collectors in the world, is providing an opportunity to own a unique offering of vehicles from his personal collection," said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO, Barrett-Jackson.
"Jimmy will consign all of these vehicles at No Reserve which will be a major component that adds excitement to one of the largest, world-renowned events of the year."
Richardson will include two Corvettes for sale within the collection including a 1960 Corvette Custom Roadster (VIN 00867S108914) and a 1961 Corvette Custom Convertible (VIN 10867S109975).
The 60' Custom Roadster is powered by a ZZ4 350/355hp V8 with a 5-speed Tremec transmission. The 61' Custom Convertible has a 5.7L crossport injection engine and also comes with a 5-speed Tremec transmission.
Richardson has consigned several Carroll Shelby classics among the collection, including a 1965 Shelby Cobra 4000 Roadster (VIN CSX4347) and a 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Convertible (VIN 1ZHT85H175339805).
Plenty of Muscle
The Jimmy Richardson Collection includes many muscle cars and Hot Rods including a 1965 Pontiac GTO (VIN 237375P275695), a 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle 2 Door Custom Hardtop (VIN 136375B119970) along with several Camaros.
Rounding out the collection are several classic cars from the 1920's and 1930's including a 1928 Ford Model A Roadster (VIN S97724PA) and a 1928 Chevrolet 2 Door Sedan (VIN 39925393AB23825).
A 1934 Packard 8 Sedan (VIN 378581703-2437) and a 1939 Ford Custom Cabriolet (VIN 184669223).
Jimmy Richardson, a Hickory, N.C. resident, is a successful entrepreneur in the food business. He currently owns a food and restaurant consulting firm, Colson Park Capital, and several food manufacturing facilities. His collection is located in Jimmy's "Big Pop's Garage" where at least three vehicles will remain following the Scottsdale sale.
"Jimmy is a great friend of Barrett-Jackson's who has a true passion for car collecting," said Steve Davis, president at Barrett-Jackson.
"We're delighted Jimmy has decided to sell 27 vehicles from his incredible collection at our Scottsdale event."
