Chevrolet Camaro Intimidator

1969 Chevrolet Intimidator Camaro set for no-reserve classic car auction

The 1969 Chevrolet Intimidator Camaro was once driven by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt

A 1969 Chevrolet Intimidator 60 Camaro is among the star attractions from a notable classic car collection that are coming to auction this weekend.

The vehicle, once driven in anger by NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt, is one of 27 being put forward at a Scottsdale, Arizona auction this weekend from the collection of Jimmy Richardson, owner of Big Pop's Garage Museum in North Carolina.

The Chevrolet Camaro RCR Series Coupe 3 - to give it its proper title - is one of just five ever made, and is offered with no reserve.

Richardson has high hopes for it and its compatriots.

"As I bought cars and restored them, my standard was I wanted them to be able to go across the auction block at prime time, which is generally when they bring the most money," Richardson told US newspaper the Morganton News Herald.

"I like cars where there is just one or a very low number, that's what collecting is about," he added.

We currently have a rare two-seater 1970 Maserati Ghibli Convertible for sale.

The car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. He produced other classic cars such as the Ferrari 250GT and the Lamborghini Cala. To find out more, call us on +44 (0) 117 933 9503 or email info@paulfrasercollectibles.com.

A 1969 Camaro custom convertible and a 1967 Mustang custom fastback are other prized cars up for grabs from the Richardson collection.

The auction will also feature the hearse that carried President John F Kennedy's body to Air Force One following his assassination in Dallas in 1963.
