Most famous for his 'Sherlock Holmes' detective stories, Scottish-born Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was an innovator of the crime fiction genre. His writing skills included works of science fiction, plays, poetry, historical novels, romances and non-fiction.

An 11cm x 9cm handwritten note, saying 'I will send them on whenever a new one is taken, which I hope will be in a few days. I am, dear Sir, very truly yours, A. Conan Doyle'. In good condition, this square of paper, written on with fountain pen, is framed with a small portrait photograph of the author.
