Verdi's handwritten music to sell at Swann

Falstaff, by one of the most influential composers of the 19th century, will auction next month

Here's a great autograph album for signature collectors and a classical music fans alike.

The album contains approximately 80 items either signed, or signed and inscribed, by the likes of Giuseppe Verdi (pictured top right), Victor Herbert and Edvard Grieg.

Ignace Jan Paderewski and Mrs FK Hammond's autographs also feature, all dating from the 1890s-1910s.

Falstaff, written and signed by Verdi on April 17, 1895

Fascinatingly, the album contains autographed musical quotations by the composers, most mounted on small cards, one per page.

Major highlights including two bars from the piece Falstaff, written and signed by Verdi and dated April 17, 1895.

This exceptional album will feature in Swann Auction Galleries up and coming autographs auction, scheduled for April 22.

It will auction with an estimate $3,500-5,000.
