A typescript dinner menu signed by Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Beaverbrrok and others

Sir Winston Churchill served as British prime minister twice, once between 1940 and 1945 and again from 1951-1955. Churchill led the country to victory against Nazi Germany and the Axis powers in World War II.

Description

This item is a dinner menu from Churchill's return journey from his meeting with President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the Arcadia or First Washington Conference. This was the conference where Churchill attained Roosevelt's agreement that the Allies' principal focus should be not be the defeat of Japan but rather the defeat of Nazi Germany.

The document is also signed by Lord Beaverbrook, Admiral Sir Dudley Pound, Air Chief Marshal Sir Charles Portal and three others. The card is headed "Dinner Mid-Atlantic. 16/1/42. British Airways. R.M.A. "BERWICK"."

Churchill's autograph appears clearly between the "Vegetable Soup" and the "Cold Buffet".
