Dame Julie Andrews (1935-) rose to fame in the 1960s, first on stage and the in musical films such as The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. Her career was revived in the 2000s in films such as The Princess Diaries and the Shrek animated series. She has also directed a number of successful Broadway shows.
Andrew's success has extended to children's books and an autobiography, Home: A Memoir of My Early Years.
