'Rarest' Beatles US 45 rpm single with Tony Sheridan will rock at auction

Estimated at $30,000+, this record starring the Beatles with Tony Sheridan is for sale in Dallas, US

The rarest of all United States Beatles 45 rpm singles is auctioning in Dallas, Texas, on March 30. Featuring the Fab Four as a back-up band, it could sell for $30,000 or even more.

Incredibly, this single "My Bonnie"/"The Saints" featuring the Beatles backing rock 'n' roll singer Tony Sheridan (as Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers) went nowhere in 1962.

Most of the copies of the flop single were trashed - to the extent that this single copy is even rarer than the pink promo version of the record.

The record was eventually re-released by the MGM label in 1964. By then, Beatlemania had struck and "My Bonnie"/"The Saints" climbed to #26 in the charts before dropping out of the Billboard's Hot 100.

This, needless to say, is an original copy of the single's first 1962 pressing. It has since become a "holy grail" among music collectors and historians.

There are believed to be only 20-25 copies of this record in existence. What's more, this record is billed by the auctioneer as being "the best we've ever seen".

Rare Beatles records are among the collectibles markets' most coveted items.

And we should know: earlier this month, Paul Fraser Collectibles announced that it is to sell one of only 8-10 known signed covers of the Fab Four's 'A Hard Day's Night' album for £35,000.

We've added this extremely rare Beatles cover to our ever-growing holding of investment grade music memorabilia. And it can be yours today - find out more here.
