Anchor Point:qu 8Any particular search tips for searching on your site?
We use the following which are relevant to our site and most of the internet.
Check Spelling: Make sure your search terms are spelled correctly. The search engine will attempt to find words that sound similar to your search terms, but it's always best to try to spell the search terms correctly.
Use Multiple Words: Multiple-word queries will return more refined results than single-word ones. For example, Eighteenth-century French fan will return fewer and more relevant results than just fan.
Use Appropriate Capitalisation: Capitalise proper nouns, and remember that lowercase words will match any case. Typing the word white will return all documents containing the word white, White and WHITE. However, typing White will instruct the search engine to look only for the capitalised word.
Use Quotation Marks: Use quotation marks to find words that must appear adjacent to each other, such as "pierced foliate gilt mask". Without quotes, the search results will include words pierced, foliate, gilt, mask but not necessarily in that order.
Use Plus (+) or Minus (-): Use a plus sign to tell the search engine that a certain word or phrase is required in the search results, and a minus sign to restrict words in the search results. Please note that both the plus and minus signs will need to be preceded by a space in order to work properly.
Use Wildcards: Wildcard searches using the asterisk (*) can help you expand your results within a specific category.
Anchor Point:qu 9Is your site safe?
Any information stored is on secure servers. In addition if you are entering any secure or closed areas of our site you will be asked for your name, email address and password.
